Dr. Travien L. Capers was raised in the small town of Varnville, South Carolina. He is the youngest son of a loving couple that taught him to trust the gifts that were given to him early in life by God.

In trusting those gifts and natural proclivities that God handsomely bestowed upon him, Pastor Capers delivered his first sermon at the tender age of nineteen and assumed his first pastorate at twenty five. He has studied at Florida A&M University, Charleston Southern University, Columbia International University, Erskine Theological Seminary and Southern Bible Institute and Seminary. Pastor Capers is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

Pastor Capers is known as a gifted orator and preacher of the Gospel. His influence and knowledge of the Holy Scriptures has afforded him the opportunity to provide counsel to some of our nation’s premier leaders and he willingly lends his gifts to those that seek him. He has been featured on advisory councils, local radio and national television and has preached fervently in numerous churches over the last ten years. He proudly serves as Senior Pastor of Zion Benevolent Baptist Church in Hopkins, South Carolina where he affectionately considers the congregants, “the best church on this side of Heaven.”

Pastor Capers is devoted to his family, his friends and to his faith. He loves to preach and teach the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He personally ascribes to the following scripture, “Wisdom is the principle thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding,” Quoted from Proverbs 4:7.
